03:26 PM EST, 11/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks fell late Monday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index declining 1.6% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) dropping 1.8%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector index rose 0.1%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities index dropped 0.1%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil tumbled 3.1% to $69.05 a barrel, while global benchmark Brent dropped 2.7% to $73.11 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures jumped 5.5% to $3.30 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, Nano Nuclear Energy ( NNE ) shares plunged past 25%. The company plans to raise $60 million via a private placement of 2.5 million shares and five-year warrants to buy up to an additional 2.5 million shares.
Clean Energy Fuels ( CLNE ) shares popped 5% after the company said Monday it has opened a newly expanded renewable natural gas fueling station in Carson, California.
ONEOK ( OKE ) agreed to acquire the remaining shares of midstream energy services company EnLink Midstream ( ENLC ) in an all-stock deal worth $4.3 billion. ONEOK ( OKE ) shares tumbled 5.7% and EnLink shed 1.8%.
TXNM Energy ( TXNM ) shares added 1.2% after it said Monday that its PNM unit is seeking regulatory approval of its proposed resource portfolio to extend existing resources and add 430 megawatts of new solar and battery storage.
