09:28 AM EDT, 09/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were higher premarket Thursday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLE ) up 1.6% recently.
The United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 2.1% and the United States Natural Gas Fund ( UNG ) was 2.1% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.9% at $70.53 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.8% to $74.22 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.8% at $2.25 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Gran Tierra Energy ( GTE ) shares were over 3% higher after the company said it has completed the offering of an additional $150 million in 9.5% Senior Secured Amortizing Notes due 2029.
TotalEnergies (TTE) shares were up more than 2% after the company said it has secured a five-year extension of its liquefied natural gas supply agreement with China's CNOOC.
Hess Midstream ( HESM ) shares declined by over 2% after the company priced a secondary underwritten public offering of 11 million of its class A shares, upsized from 10 million shares, on behalf of an affiliate of Global Infrastructure Partners.
