01:37 PM EDT, 04/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks advanced Friday afternoon with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.8% and the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 1.2%.
The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index climbed 2.5%, and the Dow Jones US Utilities Index added 0.8%.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 1.4% to $60.91 a barrel, and global benchmark Brent advanced 1.4% to $64.23 a barrel. Henry Hub natural gas futures fell 1.7% to $3.50 per 1 million BTU.
In corporate news, KKR (KKR) increased its equity stake in Enilive, the mobility transformation company launched by Italian energy company Eni (E), boosting its interest to 30% following a 601 million euro ($681.3 million) deal that values Enilive at about 11.75 billion euros. Eni shares rose 2.9%.
