09:02 AM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks edged higher premarket Wednesday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) advanced by 0.4% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.8% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.7% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.9% higher at $78.19 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.6% to $80.42 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 0.8% at $4 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
W&T Offshore ( WTI ) shares were up 0.5% after the company priced a $350 million offering of 10.75% senior second lien notes due 2029.
