08:55 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were edging higher premarket Thursday as the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) was marginally advancing recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.2% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was almost 1% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.5% higher at $70.76 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.4% to $74.50 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 1.1% at $2.39 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Liberty Energy (LBRT) shares fell by over 5% after the company reported lower Q3 adjusted net income and revenue.
