In corporate news, PepsiCo ( PEP ) is nearing a deal to buy soda brand Poppi for more than $1.5 billion, Bloomberg reported. PepsiCo ( PEP ) shares added 0.2%.
Danish pension fund AkademikerPension said it has excluded Tesla (TSLA) from its investment portfolio due to the company's stance against labor rights, board independence issues and Chief Executive Elon Musk's forays into geopolitics. Separately, Tesla plans to make a cheaper version of its Model Y in Shanghai, mainly targeting Chinese customers, Reuters reported. Tesla shares were rising 3%.
Li Auto's ( LI ) Q4 earnings fell year-over-year but revenue came in above market estimates, with the Chinese electric vehicle maker expecting its sales to decline annually in the ongoing three-month period. Its shares dropped 3.6%.
