Mutual Fund Corner: Kaustubh Belapurkar of Morningstar answers your MF queries
Aug 8, 2019 8:09 AM

An investor needs to take a hard look at his portfolio if he is opting for sectoral mutual funds, Kaustubh Belapurkar, Director, Fund Research at Morningstar said. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Belapurkar has answered investment-related queries.

Answering a query on sectoral funds, he said: "No matter how aggressive an investor you are, you want to build a more core holding and diversified sort of funds and then on satellite sort of add-on.”

Speaking about whether there is an ideal portfolio for all seasons and market conditions, he said, “There is an element of uniqueness in the sense that you want to see the time horizon, the risk profile itself that the investor is bringing in. If you meet an advisor who can handhold you through some of these tough times, it is helpful. Having someone to guide you emotionally makes a huge difference, “he added.
