Major Airline Stocks Fall After Delta Air Lines Issues Q3 Earnings Guidance Below Estimates

11:10 AM EDT, 07/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Shares of major airlines, including United Airlines (UAL) and American Airlines Group ( AAL ) , fell in recent Thursday trading after Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) issued Q3 earnings guidance below analysts' estimates.

Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) said it expects Q3 adjusted earnings per share of $1.70 to $2. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect adjusted EPS of $2.06.

Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) shares were down 6.3%, United Airlines fell 4.6% and American Airlines ( AAL ) slid 5.8%. Shares of Alaska Air Group (ALK), JetBlue Airways ( JBLU ) and Southwest Airlines ( LUV ) dropped 0.9%, 2.9% and 3%, respectively.
