The government has given airlines operating on domestic routes some reason to cheer this festive season and this comes in the form of being allowed to operate at higher capacity.

CNBC-TV18's Anu Sharma reports that the government is set to increase domestic airlines' capacity to 70-75 percent from current cap of 60 percent.
