November is turning out to be yet another month in terms of foreign portfolio investor (FPI) inflows. Foreign investors have net invested over Rs 33,000 crore this month so far, after having net poured in Rs 17,000 crore last month.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had chaired the Virtual Global Investor Roundtable (VGIR) 2020, which was attended by heads of 20 top institutional investors from the US, Europe, Canada, Korea, Japan, Middle East, Australia and Singapore. The investors included the world’s largest pension and sovereign wealth funds managing combined assets of around US$6 trillion.
As per a report by brokerage firm Morgan Stanley, inflows have remained strong across emerging markets.
According to the report, a dedicated emerging market (EM) Equity Funds report inflows of $6.35 billion last week. In fact, EM Asia (Ex-China) reported inflows of $3.85 billion.
Flows were driven by both exchange-traded fund (ETF) and non-ETF funds.
