07:51 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US dollar rose against its major trading partners early Monday as attention turns to retail sales and industrial production data for September this week.
Monday is a federal government holiday in the US, so there are no data releases scheduled, but there are a handful of appearances by Federal Reserve officials. Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari is due to speak at 9:00 am ET, followed by Fed Governor Christopher Waller at 3:00 pm ET and Kashkari again at 5:00 pm ET.
Tuesday's highlights include the New York Fed's Empire State index, the first manufacturing conditions measure for October, weekly Redbook same store sales and the New York Fed's inflation expectations readings for September.
Import price data for September and the New York Fed's services reading are due Wednesday.
Thursday's schedule will be busy, with weekly jobless claims, September retail sales, September industrial production, and NAHB builder sentiment for October the highlights of the day.
Home building data for September and updates to Q3 gross domestic product growth Nowcast estimates from the Atlanta Fed and St. Louis Fed are due for release Friday.
