Nitin Nohria, Harvard Business School dean and nominee of Tata Trusts on the board of the holding company of the conglomerate, is putting down his papers from his non-executive director position at the holding company of the Tata Group, The Times of India reported.

Nohria has communicated to the top management his desire of not wanting an extension of his term on the company’s board, the report said citing sources familiar with the matter.
Nohria was appointed as a non-executive director of the conglomerate in September 2013 and his five-year term will come to an end next month.
The news comes as a surprise as Nohria is only 56, and the retirement age, according to the policy, is 70. He will be the second person to step down from the board after Vijay Singh.
