Midlevel employees in the IT sector may soon have to brace for another round of job loss as Artificial Intelligence (AI) takes over their roles, reported BusinessLine.

According to the report, project managers will bear the maximum brunt as AI takes over their roles in software firms.

The report said that around 7 percent of India’s total 38 lakh-strong workforces in the IT sector are project managers. And with the rise of AI, a sizeable number of project managers will see their jobs being lost.

The development comes as project management tools, which have been gathering data over decades and now have an AI layer, may eventually reduce the dependency on project managers, making many of their roles redundant.
