10:12 AM EDT, 03/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- State-level data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics Tuesday showed the unemployment rate rose in one state, Pennsylvania, in January and held steady elsewhere.
The unemployment rate rose by 0.1 percentage point in Pennsylvania. South Dakota had the lowest rate at 1.9% while Nevada had the highest at 5.8%.
Nonfarm payrolls declined in four states and were little changed elsewhere.
The largest payrolls loss in absolute terms was in Georgia, which lost 28,200 jobs, followed by Missouri with a loss of 17,200 jobs.
