India, Japan and Australia finalise strategy to counter Chinese dominance in supply chains

Japan has told India that it will be financially supporting two of its companies -- Toyota-Tsusho and Sumida -- to expand their manufacturing base in India.

Sources told CNBC-TV18 that the move is part of a trilateral mechanism between India, Japan and Australia to establish an alternate supply chain to counter Chinese dominance.

As a part of the initiative, a five-pronged strategy has been finalised, reports Rituparna Bhuyan.
