Jul 19, 2024 7:36 AM

10:02 AM EDT, 07/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Verisk Analytics ( VRSK ) said Friday that its Extreme Event Solutions group estimates $2 billion to $3 billion in industry insured losses to onshore property from wind in the US from Hurricane Beryl.

The company said, at peak, almost 3 million households lost power in Texas from the hurricane.

"The outages could well drive significant claims due to food spoilage, mold, and losses to additional living expenses and business interruption coverages," Verisk said.
