08:00 AM EDT, 08/20/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Vecima Networks ( VNWTF ) on Tuesday said its first U.S.-made internet network electronics equipment will roll off the production line next week at MARA Technologies USA's Holly, Michigan manufacturing facility.
The production is part of the Build America Buy America (BABA) requirements for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program, the company said.
MARA Technologies expects to add 100 new U.S. workers to manufacture certain of Vecima's Entra Fiber Access Products.
The US$42.45 billion BEAD program, to expand high-speed Internet access across the U.S., is administered by the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
