04:12 PM EST, 01/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks' ( SBUX ) new code of conduct for cafes in North America no longer allows the general public to linger or use the bathroom unless they make a purchase, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing employee notices.
The new policy reverses the current code of conduct that allowed people access regardless of a purchase, according to the report.
Other changes include new signs prohibiting harassment, violence, threatening language, outside alcohol, smoking, and panhandling, the report added.
A Starbucks ( SBUX ) spokesperson confirmed the change in policy to MT Newswires.
