06:29 AM EDT, 04/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK/A )-owned (BRK.A, BRK.B) private jet company NetJets is probing a data breach following the stealing of information about certain clients by a hacker, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing two people familiar with the incident and an email seen by the news outlet.
The incident took place in March, one of the sources told Bloomberg, adding that the hacker tried to extort NetJets.
NetJets "recently detected and addressed a security incident involving an employee's account," Bloomberg reported, citing a company spokesperson. "We found that a limited amount of data for a very small number of owners was obtained, and we contacted each of these owners," the spokesperson reportedly said. "The activity did not affect our operations or our ability to service our customers."
NetJets did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
