07:49 AM EDT, 04/01/2025 (MT Newswires) -- G2 Goldfields ( GUYGF ) reported Wednesday additional diamond drilling results from its new discovery zone at the OKO project in Guyana.
Highlights include 43 meters at 1.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 51 meters at 1.2 g/t gold.
According to G2, the results demonstrate continuity of gold mineralization along strike as well as down plunge from existing intercepts. Gold mineralization remains open in all directions, with assays pending testing the zone further along strike.
"It's very early days for this discovery but based on the dozen or so holes we have seen so far, this discovery is quite exciting," CEO Dan Noone said. "In a little over a month of drilling, we have established over 400 meters of strike of near surface, oxidized gold mineralization."
G2 said the new discovery lies near its flagship gold resources at the Oko Main Zone and Ghanie, potentially providing a significant impact on the scale and economics of a potential mining complex.
"Additionally, we have confirmed very good down plunge continuity in the areas tested thus far, Noone said. "As a result, we are immediately adding an additional drill rig to this program and stand ready to provide additional drills as required."
