Oct 31 (Reuters) - Officials of the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission are investigating if miner Freeport-McMoRan ( FCX )
failed to disclose the threats that an earthquake could
pose to its new copper smelter complex in Indonesia, Bloomberg
News reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the
matter.
The company did not immediately respond to a Reuters request
for comment, while the SEC declined to comment on the report.
