12:04 PM EDT, 09/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- FirstEnergy ( FE ) said Monday its FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric unit has reached a $225 million settlement in its base rate review, expanding bill assistance for low-income residential customers.
If approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, the agreement would lead to average monthly bill increases ranging from 1.9% to 6.2% for residential customers of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power and West Penn using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month, FirstEnergy ( FE ) said.
FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric is seeking a Jan. 1 effective date for the new rates, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
