05:28 PM EDT, 10/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canada Nickel ( CNIKF ) after trade Wednesday said it started submitting the federal impact statement for the Crawford nickel sulfide project and expects to complete it within six weeks.
The statement includes essential data and analysis of the project's environmental, social, and economic effects, as well as outlining measures to mitigate potential negative impacts, the company said.
Chief executive Mark Selby said the submission moves the company closer to obtaining its permits, which it aims to secure in 2025.
"We're grateful for the strong partnerships we've built with Indigenous Nations and community stakeholders, whose contributions have been essential in shaping the submission," he added.
The company's shares closed down $0.04 to $1.08 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
