05:40 AM EDT, 10/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) newest iPhone sales in China rose 20% in their first three weeks, compared with 2023's model, media outlets reported Friday, citing data from Counterpoint Research.
The iPhone 16 debuted in China in September and has outperformed its predecessor so far, according to the reports.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models were doing particularly well as consumers continue to shift to the pricier models, with their combined sales jumping 44%, compared with their equivalent 2023 versions, the reports said.
However, overall iPhone unit sales in China saw a 2% decline year-over-year during the three-week-period due to falling sales of older models and high competition, the research firm said.
Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
