In corporate news, D.R. Horton ( DHI ) shares surged past 10% after its fiscal Q3 results unexpectedly advanced year over year, while the company narrowed its revenue forecast for the full year.
Leslie's (LESL) shares tumbled nearly 30%. The company said late Wednesday it expects fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings of $0.32 to $0.33 per share. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $0.42. The company also lowered its fiscal 2024 guidance for adjusted EPS and sales.
Alaska Air ( ALK ) shares slumped 7.1% after the airline narrowed its full-year earnings outlook due to a new tentative labor deal with flight attendants and gave a downbeat bottom-line outlook for Q3.
Ford (F) shares added 0.9% as the company plans to expand production of its F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks with a $3 billion investment at a Canadian facility.
